This is a vintage Desert Rose hand-decorated earthenware teacup and saucer set. It was originally produced by the famous American pottery manufacturer Franciscan Ceramics (Gladding, McBean & Co.) starting in 1941.
Design: Features embossed, hand-painted pink desert wild roses, green leaves, and distinctive brown bark-like handles mimicking rugged vines.
History: It is recognized as one of the most popular dinnerware patterns in American history. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy even chose it for use in the White House staff mess.
Production Eras: Early pieces were crafted in California, USA. Later production moved to England under the Wedgwood brand, and eventually to China.
