This is a vintage red Foo Dog or Chinese Guardian Lion Arnel sculpture.
Foo dogs are traditional Chinese statues that symbolize powerful, mystical guardians.
They are believed to protect family wealth and social status.
They were historically placed in front of important buildings such as temples and government offices.
Arnel was a ceramic maker for people to go in and paint the pieces personally themselves.
